STEED SHAFT DRIVE

Propeller Shaft Drive System (PDS) occupy less space than Chain Drive and Derailleur system thus gives a stylish look. Spiral bevel gears are made of Ch-Mo alloy and are heat treated to have the best wear resistance. Pedal and Drive shafts are made of Alloy steel and are hardened to have the toughness and torsional strength. All the above are helping the PDS assembly to last for more than 15000 km.

Steed Chainless cycles are fitted with Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Internal Gear Hubs for the 3 and 5 Speed variants. For more than 100 years, Sturmey-Archer has been pioneer in design and manufacture of Internal Gear Hubs.

Steed chainless cycles are coming with Sturmey-Archer Twist Shifter which is connected to the Internal Gear Hub eliminates the shifting of gears using derailleurs for both crank and cog wheels as in Chain Drive cycles. It is easy and simple to shift gears to achieve specific speed and torque requirements.

The Hub has been designed and developed in-house. Capable of handling both axial and radial loads due to the usage of high quality sealed bearings that enable friction free rotation. The axle shaft is made out of special steel and the entire arrangement has cupped inside the aluminum alloy casing.
